Group 3.2: Education

Education is also a fundamental human right to which many people have little or no access. What about the right to free education and equal opportunities? How can a worldwide standard of education be ensured? These are some aspects of “education as a human right”. Other questions could be: How free can or should education be? Must the state fund education? What happens if industry funds it? Who is in charge of the curricula and their mediation? And who controls them? Another part of education is the imparting of human rights. How can we make people aware of their rights from childhood on? The participants should discuss those kinds of questions and collect ideas on how to mediate human rights in class.
